Romeoville, Illinois ---- seriously. what a cool place! I find it interesting that there are so many odd unique fun names for towns. Anyone heard of this place?
Tell me the strangest place you have ever been, or heard of????
I don't think my husband has ever recovered from the date we had where I drove him 2 1/2 hours to go to the Family Tree Restaurant. This little farming town that I wanted to live in, and have the garden of the week award.
What goals I had back then? These days I just want to get the veggies at the store in my kids mouths, and the thought of growing them gives me hives!
So....surprise, he still married me, and yes, I still dream of my little town far away from civilization, where I have the garden of the week award posted in my front yard. Awwww....i can see it now....

on marriage
'Will you, um, marry me?' I haven't seen you in weeks! You don't look happy or excited about the prospect of our marriage! You're asking me to give up my - my freedom, my joie de vivre for an institution that fails as often as it succeeds? And why should I marry you anyway? I mean, why do you wanna marry me? Besides some bourgeois desire to fulfill an ideal that society embeds in us from an early age to promote a consumer capitalist agenda?

Funny how life happens huh? I grew up in the middle of Missouri and was surrounded by all kinds of those funny little towns. I love them!
I, too, have been to the Family Tree Restaurant. Yummy Scones!!!! I grew up in one of those little dinky towns. Population 500. Oh, wait a minute I've got some chickens to catch;)
Romeoville isn't far from Normal, Illinois LOL
there was a Festus, MO on our road trip :)
We spent the night in the car, in a church parking lot on our honeymoon in Truckee,California. It got so late ( we drove all day) that we couldn't find a hotel or motel that had a vacancy !
Hey, I know where that is. Probably about an hour away from me. Yea.
I lived in Dingle, Idaho. It was small, and the sign said entering Dingle on one side and leaving on the other.
Congrats to the winner!!
